THE HUMAN FIREWALL

BACKSTAGE PASS

Think Reese’s commercial—you know, where the chocolate bar accidentally smashes into the peanut butter, and—bam!—something unexpectedly delicious is born, that’s exactly how the Human Firewall Tour came to life.

It’s a tale of two dedicated professionals’ careers colliding in the most brilliant way, both with a shared passion for rocking stages, and a mutual Pluralsight client with a genius idea: “What if you two combined forces?”

Let’s rewind. For 30 years, Alice rocked business leadership and HR leadership roles in Corporate America, taking her from the East Coast to the West Coast, wherever her culture expertise was needed. She then left the corporate career life and began helping Fortune 500 giants like Costco, Salesforce, Starbucks, Edward Jones, T-Mobile, and many more build cultures of change and belonging with her innovative leadership techniques.  All of which are featured in over 25 impactful Pluralsight courses and shared in her speaking engagements.

Meanwhile, Dale’s career immersed him neck-deep in all things tech infrastructure, sparking a passion to train others in technology. He traveled the U.S., arming IT teams with the tools to protect their systems from cyber threats. A certified ethical hacker (CEH) and tech enthusiast, he launched Dale Dumbs IT Down to simplify technology for families and businesses, making complex concepts accessible and actionable. Dale is a top-rated Pluralsight author, having authored over 70 Pluralsight courses teaching all things cybersecurity, cementing his reputation as a go-to expert in the field. Currently, he’s gearing up to publish his third book, building on the success of his first two titles, The OSINT Handbook: A practical guide to gathering and analyzing online information (2024) and Certified Ethical Hacker Exam guide (2023), both available on Amazon. In his spare time, Dale speaks at church and community events free of charge, helping families and older generations stay safe and smart with the technology they use. He is also a highly popular speaker at BYU’s annual Education Week, where his engaging, practical insights inspire and educate audiences on navigating the digital world securely.

During the years of juggling their individual career paths, Dale and Alice learned to master the ultimate life hack: raising six kids (three biological, three adopted) on the fly. Both careers required high amounts of travel—when Alice jetted off for business trips, Dale took on the home front, then Alice would return and tap back in while Dale tapped out of home responsibilities for his own business travel. Over the years, they learned how to turn this chaos into a symphony of balance.

Even though they both became sought-after speakers—Alice inspiring leaders to cultivate cultures of change readiness, and Dale equipping IT pros with hard-hitting tech know-how— their speaking paths never crossed.  Enter their mutual Pluralsight client, who saw the magic in their combined expertise. “Why not merge Alice’s leadership firepower with Dale’s cyber shield?” they suggested. It was a lightbulb moment—a collision of chocolate and peanut butter that just… worked.

Alice’s ability to connect with audiences, drawing from her decades of senior-level wisdom and her relatable journey as a working mom of six, paired perfectly with Dale’s knack for breaking down tech complexity, earned through his CEH-certified ethical hacking creds and hands-on IT training.

With the emergence of AI and other tech advancements, the need for an all-hands-on-deck approach to safeguard company assets became more urgent than ever. Dale quickly recognized that companies needed more than just IT solutions to protect their digital assets—as those solutions are not enough to tackle today’s challenges. With human error emerging as the #1 cause of breaches looming over all industries, a frontline human approach must take top priority he concluded.

This urgency gave rise to the Human Firewall, a global mission to inspire leaders and empower teams to become their company’s first line of cyber defense.

At this stage of their careers, Dale and Alice get to plan their work time around what truly matters— jamming with their favorite bands at rock concerts and mountain getaways with their family. These activities take the prime time slots on their calendar. While their 2025 calendar is rocking and popping, their availability becomes more limited as each week goes by.

Already in 2025, the Human Firewall Tour is hitting Dublin, Ireland; Copenhagen, Denmark; London; Paris; Austria; and Prague.

Hint: If your company’s stage is in a cool place and a great rock fest is taking place during the same time frame, your request most likely will shoot to the top of their list.

Dale and Alice are pumped to bring this message to teams everywhere! Want to get in on the action?
